  6. Mkamalid says:

I can’t see the comment that dissed matt’s vocals

the fact is..Muse did not find a vocalist at their small town cuz no one cared for them, he had to do it, and till this day, in the most recent interviews, when ppl ask him about his voice he only replies with “wut voice, my voice?”..
without official training it’s amazing what he can do..he’s one of the few singers that use falsetto at such a range, and he’s over 4 octaves. the fact he can play like that and sing is alone accomplishing a feat

  7. IbanezxShredder says:

He only likes freddie cause hes in the closet gay.

  8. rakugorakuen says:

holy crap on the actual song, i thought another person was doing the 2:30 part, That’s amazing!

  10. killerkite333 says:

well enough of discussion.. were here for the end of the world.. i mean Muse. =P

and about Freddy mercury, he was a great vocalist, but I can also dwell on one thing he did. He strained a lot at certain notes, that Matt would pull off much smoother. So it is a matter of opinion. And u are right Muse is too busy to give a care what us people on youtube are even talking about. Its ridiculous how come people actually worship singers as their idols, its actually scary when they call them their Gods. If i were famous it would freak the hell out of me.

  12. TruthfulMormon says:

Actually he does not do this in all of his songs. But in some of them. Well, that is your opinion about his voice. You are the few who are disappointed by Matt Bellamy’s voice. I on the other hand think he is an amazing vocalist, nobodies perfect, but to me his vocals are close. Everybody I have ever let listen to Muse have always been in awe of the vocals, u are one of the first who has ever made such a big deal out of this, everybody else seems to love his, but to each his own.

  13. AcrossTheUniversee says:

Honestly, the half-choking gasping sounds you call it, makes it sound cool. the fact that he can sing like he does and quickly gain breath back and go for more is awesome.

Here is a bass cover from me of the song “plug in baby” !

Waste some time to check it out !

    cheers! :D

  15. taknetak says:

And I respectfully disagree. One of the best vocalists of this genre was definitely Freddie Mercury. Probably the strongest voice; full of color as well. But then, he went to sing with Montserrat Caballé, and next to her, his voice lost tremendously. All depends who you compare to or between. Thank god there are no competitions among Rock/Pop/Jazz singers and groups. The fans would just kill each other! Relax people. Mine is an opinion, yours is an opinion. Does Muse care???

  16. taknetak says:

From Taknetak : Thank you for giving me red “minuses”, currently at number 6. My favorite color is red :)

  17. Amandy85 says:

Yes I agree, the best vocalist of all time, why, because of that breathing. It is beautiful, refreshing, raw and real. I love his voice and Muse is Muse because of this!! It’s a powerful song.

  18. madbob73 says:

it’s his style & trademark (on some songs its apparent more than others) you either love it or not.

  19. taknetak says:

To iMusificated and sukmyback: Thank you for your reply. It is interesting how most Youtube comments are ‘black and white’. As you see, I do not question this band’s greatness or the value of their music to (obviously) millions. But yes, for me the breathing problem is so audible that it actually prevents my enjoyment of listening to the otherwise powerful songs. I checked out the studio recordings (not live), and he has the same problem. Very unfortunate for me, as I wanted to like the songs…

  20. iMusificated says:

OMFG… Okay matthew bellamy breathe a bit during these concerts, but that does not prevent him from being one of the best vocalists / guitarist of all our time and not be part of one of the best rock bands today, see of all time. If we fixed the flaws in life we take no pleasure in anything … Muse’s music is simply beautiful … Do not love this band because the singer’s breathing is awful … well … whatever. ;)

  21. sukmyback says:

    picky much?

  22. taknetak says:

A friend recommended this band and this song. I am disappointed. The lead singer does not seem to be able to inhale without an annoying loud noise. I thought maybe it is the excitement of this very song. Went to other songs, he does the same everywhere! He just does not seem to be able to take a breath without this half-choking half-gasping sound. Obviously, it does not bother great many people. I am sure I am missing some greatness here, but..

  23. x333ximonlyhalfevilx says:

I just saw them on dec 12 in Vegas.. along with Cage the Elephant, Paper Tongues, and Afghan Raiders.. but MUSE WAS THE BEST!!

OMG THEYRE SO AMAZING LIVE!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE MATT BELLAMY HE SINGS, PLAYS GUITAR, PLAYS PIANO AND HES HOTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but anyways.. Muse. MOST AMAZING BAND EVER!

  24. Hunsbassist says:

No, it was just a really low chord. It blended in with the bass and the drums.

  25. fauxperfection says:

wow, i totally forgot how much i like muse. this video just gave me a joygasm to the ears!
