In it’s very dramatic ending to season 3 of the OC the Leonard Coen song hallelujah seems to capture the emotional undertones of the scene. Ryan takes Marissa in his arms. He tells her that he will need to go get help, but knowing that nothing can be done, she asks him to stay. After a few moments of looking into each other’s eyes, she dies in Ryan’s arms.

The OC has pioneered the creative use of storytelling through song and, in the process, become a showcase for some of the most innovative and original artists in music. The OC is the story of several wealthy Orange County families and their angst-ridden high school-aged offspring. Listening to hallelujah on the oc soundtrack can still be a wonderful experience. You don’t need the context of the show to make it meaningful and very listenable.
